High School Students
High school seniors who are currently enrolled in a Fulfillment Fund program are eligible to apply for one of our competitive need-and-merit based college scholarships, renewable for 2-4 years of undergraduate study.
Applications are due by February 27, 2012
For more information, contact Karina Santos, Scholarship Operations Manager.
Application Requirements
1. Two completed recommendation forms
One must be from a teacher or counselor at your school. The second will be for you to decide. Please note that letters of recommendations should not come from friends or family members. Both letters need to be submitted electronically. Acceptable letters may come from a mentor, coach, religious official, College Access Program Advisor or another adult who you trust. You will need to have your recommender's email address in order to solicit a recommendation from them.
2. Essay/personal statement
Prompt: In approximately 500 words or less, describe your challenges, obstacles, influences, or family/home life.
This is an opportunity for you to tell the scholarship selection committee about your personal circumstances or family history, especially as it relates to your educational and economic opportunities. Include any obstacles that you have had to overcome and what you may have learned from them.
Students are encouraged to describe how the Fulfillment Fund has impacted their lives.
Points will be given on the content of your essay, as well as on how well you write your essay, so be sure to proofread it and have others look at it before you attach it.
Essays should be typed and double-spaced in 12-point font.
3. High school transcript
You must have a minimum 2.5 weighted 10-12th grade GPA to be eligible for the Fulfillment Fund Scholarship. Grades from the first semester of your senior year must also be included. If you attend a traditional track school, wait until your first semester grades are posted.
4. SAR (Student Aid Report)
Approximately two weeks after you submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). If you have not yet received your SAR, submit a copy of your completed FAFSA form with your scholarship application. If you are not eligible to apply for FAFSA, please contact Karina Santos, Scholarship Operations Manager, for instructions.
