Isela is an attorney at the law office of Holguin, Garfield, Martinez & Quinonez, APLC. She represents union members of the Los Angeles Hotel and Restaurant Industry in matters of bankruptcy, consumer rights, landlord-tenant, and immigration law. Her clients all come from low-income backgrounds, and most of them are hotel housekeepers, cooks, and servers. She is licensed to practice law in the State of California and in U.S. Federal courts.
As a law student and attorney, Isela has demonstrated a continuous commitment to serving vulnerable and underserved communities that cannot afford legal representation. While in law school, she was an extern for Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Public Defender, Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles, and the chambers of U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Samuel Bufford. As an attorney, she has continued to serve underprivileged communities by volunteering with various non-profit organizations. In her previous career, Isela worked for Ernst & Young, LLP and Arthur Andersen, LLP.
Isela holds a B.S. from California State University Los Angles, and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School. She has been involved with the Fulfillment Fund since she was a freshman at Los Angeles High School as a member of the College Pathways Program. Isela was born in Guatemala and has one daughter.
