Meet Team Fulfillment Fund

The Fulfillment Fund is an official charity of the 2012 Honda LA Marathon! On March 18, a dedicated group of Fulfillment Fund alumni, mentors, staff and other volunteers will run 26.2 miles from Dodger Stadium to the Pacific Ocean, supporting a cause we all believe in deeply: the power of education to transform lives.

We're happy to introduce you to a few of the members of Team Fulfillment Fund:

Christian - A 10-time marathoner who has been legally blind since the age of 15, Christian became the first in his family to graduate college (UC Santa Cruz) in June 2011. "Anything is possible with some determination, and the Fulfillment Fund helped me learn this. Thanks to the guidance of the Fulfillment Fund I have a college education. I am proud to be a contributing member of my community." Read more about Christian.

Tania - Tania graduated from UCLA and is now planning to go to medical school. "The Fulfillment Fund believed in my potential. The support from this organization made my college experience possible." Tania is Christian's training partner and will be running as his guide. Read more about Tania.

Karina - A graduate of Pitzer College, Karina is now the Scholarship Operations Manager for the Fulfillment Fund. "I am blessed to be a former Fulfillment Fund scholarship recipient so I know firsthand the difference a scholarship can make to a student. I can tell you that $750 (my fundraising goal) will pay for a student's registration fees and books for a semester as well as ease the student's stress significantly." Read more about Karina.

Juan - Currently a student at Cal State Northridge, Juan is the part-time Programs Associate for the Fulfillment Fund. "The Fulfillment Fund has always been by my side, so when the opportunity to run the LA Marathon arose, I just had to do it. The 26.2 miles I will be running is nothing compared to what the Fulfillment Fund has done for me. The Fulfillment Fund has truly changed my life." Read more about Juan.

You don't have to run the marathon to support Team Fulfillment Fund - we'll do that part - so please, consider sponsoring any of the members of Team Fulfillment Fund. Each team member has set a personal, minimum fundraising goal of $750. Your donation in a team member's name will help the Fulfillment Fund provide college access programs and services to academically promising yet under-resourced Los Angeles middle and high school students.
