Program Events Coordinator

General Summary:

We are looking for a Part-Time Program Events Coordinator to help plan various student events throughout the year! This would be a great position for someone who is seeking some work experience in the nonprofit world and who is passionate about education and working with first generation youth. The right candidate for this job needs to be detailed oriented, highly organized, and great at multi-tasking.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the planning of several student focused events such as our yearly event: Destination College, and several overnight and college day trips.

  • Handle administrative tasks including booking college tours, transportation, collecting and processing student forms and trip applications, processing invoices, check requests, expense reports, and making follow up phone calls

  • Develop marketing materials and event collateral such as brochures, flyers, save-the-dates,  and invitations

  • Chaperone college day trips as needed

  • Have earned/working towards a BA  

  • Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Organized, detailed, adaptable & personable

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Education Edge

  • Knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator is a PLUS!

  • A team player

  • Available to work evening and Saturday events as needed 

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors Degree and experience in non-profit work preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

A current California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance requested.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid outside conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
